Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9421401A1] A process and arrangement are disclosed for separating wire windings shaped out of a series of windings made of hot-rolled wire and deposited in a series of successive windings on a winding conveyor. The last and first end windings are separated therefrom and supplied to a severing arrangement controlled by sensors and by a computer. The object of the invention is to limit the severing process to a determined area and to shorten the displacement paths of the severing arrangement, as well as the time taken by the severing process. For that purpose, the last and first end windings of a series of successive windings (7, 9) are separated by a cutting device. Said windings are separated from the intermediate windings at two spots and a thus separated sample (40) is supplied to a catching arrangement (6). The cutting device separates the last and first end windings (7, 9) by retaining the intermediate windings (8) and then sends them on the winding conveyor (2) to a stationary ejector (10) which deposits them on a scrap conveyor (41).
