[origin: EP0689879A1] The vaporiser has an electrically-operated piezoceramic element (4) and an associated coupling element (6), made of a metal material, e.g. Ti, having an integral raised spherical surface (12), onto which the fluid to be vaporised is dropped. Pref. the coupling element has a disc section (16) around the peripheral edge of the raised spherical surface and an outer thicker ring section (18), cooperating to provide a recess for receiving the piezoceramic element. <IMAGE>
