Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0689910A1] The procedure consists of machining the panel, shaping and smoothing it, treating its edges with a pore sealant, drying, smoothing the edges, applying an adhesive over the whole panel surface and covering with paper. In a variant the panel can be decorated with a silk screen print after the edges have been sealed and dried. The panel edge sealant can be applied by spray or roller, and the sealant is one which takes no more than 3 mins. to dry. The adhesive, when used, is of PVAC type. All of the stages involved in the procedure can be set out in a single production line.
