Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0690157A1] The ring spinner has a drawing unit to draw a sliver to deliver a compressed yarn to a spindle which has a ring (18) and traveller (20) moving round it. The traveller (20) and ring (18) are shaped so that a tangent (T) is formed at the yarn tangent point (P) at the yarn running surface (200) at the gap (GDL) between the traveller (20) and ring (18), measured along the length of the spindle. The tangent (T) is at an angle ( alpha ) of 45 degrees to the spindle axis (A). The gap (GDL) is max. 0.5 mm. when the traveller (20) lies at the running surface of the ring (18) with its centre of gravity as far as possible from the spindle axis (A) and with a gap esp. of max. 0.3 mm. <IMAGE>
