Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0690167A2] Stock is supplied to the breast box of a paper machine by a number of distributor feeds across the width of the machine. In at least one of the feeds (main stream) there is a restrictor followed by a feed (side stream) of liquid (e.g. stock suspension, dilution water or water) at an angle. The angle is chosen so that a small change in the rate of flow of the side stream results in a large corresponding or opposing change in the total flow (main stream plus side stream). <IMAGE>
