Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0690261A1] The lamp is installed with its filament at one focus of an ellipsoidal reflector whose other focus lies in the focal plane of a coaxial lens. The shape of the beam depends upon the position of a movable mask (30) formed of a vane (31) with suitably shaped upper and lower edges, fixed to a shaft (32) between two bearings (33a,33b). The two stable positions are defined by stops (e.g. 23) inhibiting movement of an arm (34) on one end (32b) of the shaft. The vane is rotatable through 180 degrees for dipped beam driving on the left instead of the right. <IMAGE>
