Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0690466A1] A high power electrical safety fuse has a housing (12) of non-conducting material. The housing has a bore (7) with a sealing plug (13) into which is set a pyrotechnical charge (2). When the charge is activated gas pressure is generated (6) and this displaces a contact bolt (5). The bolt moves to break the electrical connection between a pair of power rails (4a, 4b). <IMAGE>
