[origin: DE4402251C1] For the production of steep-walled pot-shaped articles (90), such as flower pots or similar products, the invention calls for granular materials (80) to be introduced into a press and subsequently compressed isostatically by a pressing tool with a punch (20), a die (50) and a membrane (60) located between the two, the membrane forming together with the punch (20) a loading chamber which can be filled with granular material (80) and together with the die (50) a pressure chamber which can brought under pressure using compressed fluid. The punch (20) is located below the die (80) and includes a centre element (30) plus a closure element (40) which extend coaxially substantially vertically upwards together. The centre element (30) has a widened head (32) whose top surface (34) is always coplanar with the surrounding top surface (22) of the punch (20). The closure element (40) is tubular in shape and forms together with the centre element (30) an annular filling channel (76) through which the granular material (80) can be introduced. When the closure element (40) is in its closed position, its end (42) nearest the loading chamber forms a seal with the head (32) of the centre element (30). This pressing tool can be used to produce large as well as small pot-shaped articles rapidly with simple equipment in trouble-free operation.
