Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0691264A1] An intermediate underwater vehicle controlled by cable from a minesweeper releases a destruction unit (UD) comprising a cradle (EF) with a remote control cable drum (B) and an explosive charge carrier (EPC). The cradle is placed on the sea bed (F) at a safe distance from the mine (MF). A tether (CL) restraining the explosive charge carrier is unreeled (T) allowing the latter to rise to operational depth. Then the carrier is propelled and guided to a point where its charge (C) is detonated with the aid of a visual or acoustic detector (MD). The carrier movements are remotely controlled. <IMAGE>
