[origin: EP0691296A1] The loading unit for plate divider saws comprises a lifter table (18) for the plate stack (20), and an horizontally movable carriage (26) above the table with a number of pusher mechanisms - which are spaced across the plate loading direction - provided with hooks (42) for pushing plates (16) from the stack (20) in the direction of an accelerating roll unit (12) preceding the saws. By means of a drive (taking the form of a cylinder unit) the hooks (42) are movable in the plate loading direction relative to the carriage (26) which can be locked in position. <IMAGE>
