Abstract (en)
A releasable coupling enables two cylindrical cartridges (1a,1b), at least one contg. propellant explosive while the other may include a missile, to be rigidly connected together before loading into a fun barrel. The end of cartridge (1a) carries a resilient plastic ring (12) which is slidable axially forwards to engage a second ring (19) fixed to the matching end of cartridge (1b), outer lip (18) on ring (12) then latching under inward facing flange (20) on ring (19) to lock the cartridges together. The axial movement of ring (12) is restricted by an inner lip (14) thereon engaging a flange (11) on a collar (9) which slidably supports ring (12) on cartridge (1a). The outer surface of ring (12) is so shaped that as the cartridges are loaded into the barrel ring (12) is radially compressed to unhook lip (18) from flange (20), while an inner lip (16) on ring (12) is able to hook onto an outward facing flange (21) on ring (19). Should the cartridges now be withdrawn from the barrel instead of being fired, cartridge (1b) is pulled along behind cartridge (1a) but released therefrom once ring (12) comes clear of the barrel and resumes its original shape. <IMAGE>

Le secteur technique de l'invention est celui des dispositifs permettant de rendre solidaires deux conteneurs destinés à contenir un chargement propulsif. Le dispositif selon l'invention permet de solidariser deux conteneurs (1a, 1b) au niveau de leurs faces frontales (2a,2b) et comprend une bague (12) montée de façon coulissante au niveau d'un premier rétreint (8a) aménagé sur un premier conteneur (la) et pouvant coulisser pour venir recouvrir partiellement un deuxième rétreint (8b) aménagé sur un deuxième conteneur (1b), l'extrémité avant de la bague comportant un bec annulaire (18) qui assure un accrochage axial de la bague sur le deuxième conteneur lorsqu'elle vient recouvrir le deuxième rétreint, le bec coopérant avec un redent circulaire (20) porté par un anneau (19) solidaire du deuxième rétreint, le dispositif est caractérisé en ce qu'il comporte des premiers moyens assurant le décrochage de l'extrémité avant de la bague d'avec le deuxième conteneur lorsque les deux conteneurs sont mis en place dans une chambre d'une arme.
