Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0691713A2] The connector module enable electrical energy and/or information signals to be transmitted between the surface (16) of an operating table on which the patient lies and a support unit (10) releasably connected to that surface (16). The module includes a module part (42) on the table side and a module part (44) on the support side. A first group of transmission elements (88, 98) is provided in one of the module parts (42, 44) to transmit electrical energy and/or information signals. A second and third group of complementary transmission elements (60, 72) are arranged in the other module part (44, 42) such that when the table surface (16) is connected to the support (10) with the surface ina first position relative to the support (10), the transmission elements (88, 98) of the first group cooperate with those of the second group (60, 72). When the table surface (16) is connected in a second position relative to the support (10), the second position being rotated about the main axis relative to the first, the transmission elements (88, 98) of the first group cooperate with those of the third group. <IMAGE>
