Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0692203A1] The ski boot has a front ferrule which fits a front fixing holding it supported on the ski. This ferrule has a holder (15a,16a) which is dissymmetrical relative to the median plane (18). This allows freeing of the boot following a torsion beyond a threshold which is different according to the direction of rotation which the torsion exerts. The front retaining zone (15) has a dissymmetrical shape relative to the median plane so as to allow disengagement of the fixing more easily from one side than another. The surface of the boot sole and ankle (16) is recessed on one side of the median plane. This recess in the sole and ankle surfaces is located between the contact zone with the fixing jaws and the median plane. The retaining ferrule has a different coefficient of friction on one side of the median plane than the other. <IMAGE>
