[origin: EP0692288A1] The boot fixing (1) has a body (2) which is connected through a mounting base (3) onto an alpine ski. The body has a boot-retaining jaw which is movable in a lateral direction in response to the boot against a return spring (15) housed in the body. A compensator (30) lowers the return force exerted by the spring on the jaw in response to a force exerted on a lever pivoted on the base. A support plate (41) takes the boot sole. The support plate can tip laterally around an axle in the vertical and horizontal plane. The plate is supported on either side the pivoting axle by movable connectors (47) whose front end rest simply supported on the compensator. The plate pivoting axle can move in a vertical direction with a limited amplitude. <IMAGE>
