Modified regenerated cellulose fibres are claimed which are prepd. by adding a modifier to a cellulose soln. or a viscose soln. and spinning from the soln. or by viscose spinning. The modifier is (a) a polyethylene-imine of formula H-(CH2-CH2-N(X)-)a-CH2-CH2-N(X)-H (I); (b) a reaction prod. of (I) with a bifunctional alkylating agent of formula A-Z-A (II); or (c) a polymeric reaction prod. (III) of an epihalohydrin with NH3 or an amine of formula R-NH-A' (IV): X = H or -(CH2-CH2-NH)c-H; n = 50-600; c = 0-50; A = -CH2-Y; Y = substit. or gp. released as anion; Z = direct bond, -CnH2n- or -CmH2m-D-CmH2m-; n = 1-4; m = 1 or 2; D = -O-, -S-, -NH-, -CO-, -SO-, -SO2 or phenylene; A' = H or 1-5C (hydroxy)alkyl; R = 1-5C (hydroxy)alkyl, -(alkylene-NA')n-alkylene-NH-A' or -(alkylene-X-alkylene-NA')n-alkylene-X-alkylene-NH-A' (n = 0-5; X = O or S); or R+A = -alkylene-NH-alkylene- or an aliphatic heterocycle, opt. contg. another O, S or N hetero-atom; alkylene = 1-6C alkylene. Also claimed is a method for dyeing and printing this material.

Modifizierte Celluloseregeneratfasern werden hergestellt, indem man einer Celluloselösung einen Modifikator zusetzt und aus der Lösung, oder indem man einer Viskoselösung einen Modifikator zusetzt und nach dem Viskosespinnverfahren Fasern spinnt, wobei der Modifikator ein Polyethylenimin oder ein Umsetzungsprodukt aus Polyethylenimin mit einem bifunktionellen Alkylierungsmittel ist.
