[origin: EP0692594A2] The bank safety deposit box is secured via a door lock operated via a key with a mechanical main bolt (24) and a locking catch (27) operated via a remote-controlled drive. The main bolt (24) and the locking catch (27) fit in openings (29) in the door frame having a corresponding cross-section. The wall of the safe is armoured adjacent the locking catch (27) for protecting the remote operating drive which uses an electromagnet, energised to release the catch. <IMAGE>
