[origin: EP0692684A1] The hot air generator has an air source generating an outlet air current (17), and a heating system (13) comprising a burner (14) supplied with a combustible fluid. Heat-retaining elements (27) store the thermal energy and transfer it to the air current. The heating system and the air source are mounted in a fixed position so that the combustion gases generated from the combustible fluid do not mix with the air current from the air source. The heat-carrying elements are arranged on a movable support (3) which can pass them between two positions. In the first position they face the heating system, while in the second position they are opposite the air outlet. This allows continuous refreshment of the heat carriers located in the air current previously heated by the heating system. <IMAGE>
