Abstract (en)

[origin: JPH0852688A] PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for laterally cutting a paper web with a rotary shaft having a slit in which the paper web is passed, wherein the shaft is provided to be movable in the opposite direction of a web transfer direction for highly reliably cutting and removing the paper web. SOLUTION: A device is provided in a rotary press in which a paper web 6 is passed while being transferred with the thrust of two cylinders 3, 4. A rotary shaft 18 is provided with a slit 22 somewhat longer than the width of the paper web for transverse cutting. The shaft 18 is rotatably supported by right and left side frames and arranged near wedged move-in portions 1 of both cylinders 3, 4 in the travelling direction of the paper web. The shaft 18 is provided to be movable in the opposite direction of a web transfer direction. The shaft body 21 of the shaft 18 is provided with a sectionally C-shaped through-hole 61 at one end of the slit 22 for passing and guiding a paper web pull-in means including a roller chain therethrough to improve the treatment efficiency of the paper web.
