Abstract (en)
A device for cleaning rolls, esp. the paper path rolls in printing machines, can be pressed against and moved along the length of the roll to be cleaned (2). It includes at least one rotatably mounted drive roll (6) whose axis is parallel to that of the roll (2) and which can be pressed against and used to drive the roll to be cleaned by friction. The device also includes at least one, also axis-parallel, brush roll (10) which can be simultaneously pressed against the roll to be cleaned and which brushes and cleans the roll as a result of relative motion between the two. A drive mechanism (8) rotates the drive roll (6) and the brush roll (10). At least one receiver (32) is located in the path of the displaced dirt in such a way as to catch the dirt as it is removed. Pref. an application system (24) for a cleaning fluid is arranged to deliver the fluid onto the roll being cleaned and/or the drive and brush rolls. The cleaning device is portable and has two handles (42, 44) spaced apart along the axis of the drive roll, one of which carries the switch for the drive motor, and the other a switch or pump actuator (44) for the cleaning fluid application. The device may have a carrier frame with two wheels on which it is moved along the length of the roll to be cleaned. At least one wiper (22) is provided, which projects into the brush and removes dirt from it. The drive mechanism is detachably coupled with the driven roll. The brush roll has two co-axial free running wheels (16, 18) which bear against and are driven by the roll to be cleaned. These fix the min. proximity of the brush roll to the roll to be cleaned. <IMAGE>

Gerät (1) zur Reinigung von Walzen (2) in Druckmaschinen, insbesondere von Papierleitwalzen. Das Gerät (1) ist an die zu reinigende Walze (2) ansetz- und andrückbar und enthält mindestens eine achsparallel zur Walze (2) an sie andrückbare Antriebswalze (6), mit welcher die zu reinigende Walze (2) durch Reibung antreibbar ist, und mindestens eine mit der Antriebswalze (6) antriebsmäßig verbundene Bürstenwalze (10), die an die zu reinigende Walze (2) andrückbar ist und durch Relativbewegung zwischen der Bürstenwalze (10) und der zu reinigenden Walze (2) diese Walze (2) abbürstet. Das Gerät (1) ist in Längsrichtung der zu reinigenden Walze (2) bewegbar. <IMAGE>
