Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0693665A2] The two heat exchangers (1,2) are joined into a common mounting block by special couplings at one end for a hinged connection and with snap fastening elastic fasteners (17) at the other end. The hinged grips comprise studs (9) fitted to the collection chamber (5) of one heat exchanger locating in shaped grips (11) attached to the respective collection chamber (3) of the next heat exchanger (1). To fit a second and more heat exchangers to the original mounting, they are merely positioned to couple the hinge mountings and swung into position parallel to the first heat exchanger and secured by the elastic fasteners. The hinge fasteners can be of various shapes and can be of plastics. During the pivot action the two heat exchangers pivot about thrust surfaces. <IMAGE>
