[origin: EP0694359A1] The immersed casting pipe (1) for introduction of a metal melt (11), in partic., a steel melt into a continuous casting mould (4), in partic., a thin-strip mould with narrow and broad sides (6,7), incorporates a section (15) with side openings (18) directed against the narrow sides (8) of the strip (5), and a bottom section (3) with a bottom opening (23). The bottom section (3) has at least two bottom openings (23) inclined towards the narrow sides of the strip, and form at least two melt streams (24) whose direction cross one another when viewed from a direction perpendicular to the broad side (9) of the strip. <IMAGE>
