[origin: EP0694659A2] The scaffold has props adjustable in height with inner (1) and outer (2) tubes and bracing members (8) between props. The bracing members are attachable to either the inner or outer tubes by brackets (11). The tubes have a cross-section shaped so that the brackets position the bracing members approximately in the plane between the centroidal axes (18) of two adjoining props. The eccentricity of the force carried by the bracing member w.r.t. the centroidal axis of the prop is minimised. The extended length of inner tube from the prop is restrained by its connection to a bracket. <IMAGE>
