[origin: DE4424770C1] An ink jet printer has a head unit that has a laminated construction. Ink jet droplets are generated by nozzle plates (11) with the energy for producing pressure pulse provided by piezo actuators (21) mounted in adjacent plates. Ink supply for the nozzles is provided by reservoirs (232). Transfer of ink to the nozzles is via channels (241, 121, 131) formed in the adjacent plates. A number of such modules with nozzle arrays are formed within the block.
