[origin: EP0695865A1] The process for correcting signals received from a sensor (3) detecting the passage of a toothed coding wheel (1) involves defining a value of the measurement parameter for each of the angular sectors (2) of the target wheel (1). This wheel has positions corresponding to the phases of operation of the IC engine. The average is determined for the value corresponding to each angular sector. For each sector, a compensation term is defined in order to correct for lack of symmetry in the toothed wheel. This allows correction of the ignition timing and fuel supply timing.
