[origin: WO9424868A1] The invention concerns the use, as insecticides, nematicides and acaricides, of 2-dichloromethyl-1,3,4-oxydiazoles, some of them prior art compounds, of general formula (I) in which X is a single bond or one of the following groups: -O-, -S-, -S(O)-, -SO2-, -NH- or -NR<2>-; R<1> is optionally substituted alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, aralkyl or heteroaryl; R<2> is optionally substituted alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or heteroaryl; or R<1> and R<2>, together with the nitrogen atom to which they are bound, form a ring. The invention also concerns new 2-dichloromethyl-1,3,4-oxadiazoles and their preparation.
