Abstract (en)
[origin: WO9426062A1] In a digital video camera having an imaging unit (10), a signal conditioning unit (11), an A/D converter (12) and a control unit (13), the internal functions of the camera can be controlled from outside via commands which are generated by a computer in digital form, transmitted to the control unit (11) and evaluated by a command interpreter (13b) and performed by a cycle control (13a). In addition the camera may be fitted with galvanically decoupled, digital or analog inputs and/or outputs which can be controlled or read out by the computer. Furthermore, there may be a timer, preferably adjustable by the computer, to control the exposure time and/or the switch-on time of external light sources.
