[origin: DE4428226C1] A bimetallic strip switch (14) is connected in parallel with a first resistive heating element (15) within a housing comprising a trough-shaped base (18) and a cover (19). The element performs a self-holding function with the switch open. The bimetallic strip is also actuated by heat produced by overcurrent in a second heating element (16). The two elements are integrated into the cover on opposite sides of an insulating layer (35) with annular printed contact tracks (37, 38). A fixed contact (29) co-operates with a moving contact (25) on a spring disc (24) movable by the bimetallic element (26).
