Abstract (en)

[origin: GB2277330A] The separation of laser and xerographic printed paper waste containing ink having a magnetic component from other paper waste products containing non-magnetic ink is effected by the use of at least one magnet. The invention also provides a method for removal of magnetic ink from pulp stock by feeding the stock past at least one magnet or dropping a magnet or magnetised balls into the stock. Magnetic material may be added to non-magnetic ink to enable it to be removed magnetically. Furthermore adhesive material may also be removed from paper pulp by incorporating a magnetic filler or carrier in said adhesive and removing such adhesive by magnetic means.
