[origin: EP0697359A2] A sensor (17) checks the horizontal distance (x) of the support pole (11) of the reeling machine. At the same time, a second distance-meter (18) checks the vertical distance (y) of the support pole of the reeling machine. When the two sensor measurements reach a predetermined ratio, the drive mechanism (16) of the lifting appliances (12) is switched off. The first sensor is horizontally positioned, and the second sensor vertically positioned at the same distance to the clamping position (15). The drive mechanism of the lifting appliances is switched off when the two sensor measurements are the same.
