[origin: DE4429053C1] The ball head is designed with a hollow ball sector bounded by a circular aperture (29), and has a cylindrical surface (32), forming an equatorial line at 90 deg. from the piston axis. It is of smaller dia. than the aperture bounding the recess. The head has a spherical recess to take the hollow ball sector.A relief groove (33), open at both ends, is formed in the spherical recess or in the bearing surface (35). Its open ends come out in the hollow space (34) bounded by the cylindrical surface and the bearing surface. In the spherical recess, it bounds a bearing counter-surface (36) under hydrostatic relief against the bearing surface.
