[origin: WO9426598A1] An apparatus (23) for dispensing plastic fasteners (13) from fastener stock (11) includes a gun shaped casing (25). An ejector rod (57) and feeder element (99) are driven by an electric motor (59) powered by a battery pack (60-1, 60-2, 60-3). First and second single pole double throw switches (55, 11) are provided for controlling the operation of said electric motor (59) so as to either cause rotation of the drive shaft (61) in one direction, cause rotation of the drive shaft (61) in the other direction or stop rotation of the drive shaft (61). The first switch (55) is operated by a trigger (37) which is pivotally mounted on the casing (25) and the second switch (11) is operated by an actuator (107) moved by a slide bar (103) which is moved by the slider (77).
