Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0698427A1] Roll eccentricities are reproduced as an output signal of an oscillator which is used for position or thickness control in the roll stand. The adjustment of the amplitude and phase of the output signal ( DELTA R') are adjusted as follows: (a) the exit thickness (ha) of the rolled material is measured with a delay relative to the thickness reduction in the roll gap; b) a roll adjustment signal (s*) is formed and delayed by an amt. at least approximately equal to the measurement delay; (c) a difference signal (u) is formed at the summing point from the signal (s*) and the signal (h'a) multiplied by an expression involving the stiffness ratio of the rolled material and the roll stand; and (d) the signal ( DELTA R') is modified dependent on its deviation from the signal (u), and is phase-advanced by an amt. equal to the measurement delay.
