Abstract (en)
The method involves heating of a surface layer according to an image using one or more laser beams (L) from a laser print head (2) and applying a driven surface element to a printing body (1), esp. to a seamless printing cylinder. A strip-shaped transfer foil (8) of narrow width compared to the width of the printing body is continuously passed between the printing body and laser beams or beam and close to the surface of the printing body during imaging. The foil is thus moved simultaneously and synchronously to the motion of the laser beam or beams over the breadth of the printing body.

Damit eine einfache, in die Druckmaschine integrierbare Druckformherstellung mittels eines laserinduzierten Thermotransfers möglich ist, ohne daß die bei der Laser-Bebilderung entstehenden Gase die Materialübertragung von der Thermotransferfolie, d. h. die Bebilderungsqualität erkennbar stören, wird eine bandförmige Transferfolie 8 mit einer Bandbreite b, die bezogen auf die Druckformbreite B klein ist, verwendet. Diese Transferfolie 8 wird zwischen der Druckform 1 und dem Laserstrahl dicht an der Druckformoberfläche während der Bebilderung kontinuierlich hindurchgeführt und dabei gleichzeitig und synchron zur Bewegung des Laserstrahls über die Druckformbreite B bewegt. <IMAGE>
