[origin: EP0699396A2] The forwarding device has a pneumatic conveyor leading to a reception station, allowing the initial longitudinal displacement of the filter rods (4) to be converted into a transverse axial movement, for further transport via a transverse conveyor (22) with a horizontal transport direction. The reception station has a deflection zone (8) has a monitoring device (36) coupled to a control (29) which provides a fault signal upon a detected blockage of the transport filter rods in the deflection zone.
