Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0699529A1] The device for printing a material strip, esp. a paper web, involves a printing mechanism, a drier section and a cooling section. In the running direction (5) of the material strip (2) connecting to the cool section (6) a moisturising section (9) with a connected after-cooling section (10) is provided. The moisturising section has at least one steam spray tube (19,20) direction onto the material strip. The tube is directed onto the underside of the strip. Beneath the steam spray tube is a catchment bath (23,24) which has high-drawn side walls (25,26) which together with the material strip and possibly at least one guide roller (12,13,15,16) enclose a damping chamber (27,28).
