Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0699592A2] The tear-off capsule is for originality security and additional seal of a bottle-shaped container already closed with a disc or plug-shaped sealing component, esp. for pharmaceutical contents. The capsule engages with its flange-shaped cover over the sealing component and the edge of the container throat with an outwardly extending bulge. The capsule (8) is produced in one piece and completely of plastics material, esp. a thermoplastic deformable plastics material such as polypropylene or polyamide, and its holding devices (14) are formed as inward projections (15) facing the outer wall of the container neck (2) and which engage under the lower edge (6) of the bulge (5).
