[origin: EP0699726A2] Water-soluble contact adhesives (I) contg. copolymers and adhesion regulating, water-soluble resins contain (A) 100 pts.wt. of a water-soluble copolymer of (a) 65-95 wt.% vinyl-carboxylic acid, (b) 5-35 wt.% (1-12C alkyl) (meth)acrylate and (c) 0.05-5.0 wt.% polymerisable photoinitiator, and (B) 30-150 pts.wt. of a water-soluble plasticiser with a mol.wt. of up to 4000. Also claimed is a process for the prodn. of (I), comprising synthesis of copolymer (A) by radical-initiated soln. polymerisation, addn. of water-soluble adhesion-regulating resin and plasticiser, and distn. of solvent and residual monomers.
