Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0699814A2] The lock has a cylinder activated bolt (1) comprising a bolt-head (3) and a bolt-tail (5) with a spring contained between them within a slot (8) in the guide case (6). The length of the slot is pref. less than the maximum length of travel of the bolt-head. The bolt-tail slides within the lock housing (4) as the cylinder turns. The spring compresses and cause the bolt-head to pass through the coverplate (2) into a strike (29) to lock the door. In narrow gaps, when the bolt-head is halted by the strike backplate the bolt-tail can continue to slide and further compresses the spring.
