Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0699832A2] The method involves introducing a fuel vapour by a controllable valve (7) into the air induction pipe of the engine. The engine contains a throttle valve (3). In order to optimise the supply over the range from idling to full-load operation, the vapour is supplied into the airflow in the pipe either in front of the throttle, or behind it, depending on the instantaneous operating conditions of the engine. The controllable valve may have a first outlet (10) in a section of the air induction pipe upstream of the throttle valve, and a second outlet (11), in a section of the pipe downstream from it.
