[origin: WO9427462A1] The clasp comprises a male part (1) and a female part (2), each being fastened to one of the ends of a link such as a jewellery chain. The front portion of the male part (1) consists of a hollow ball (3), whose wall has at least one slot (4, 4'), wherein is received a body (5) made of an elastically deformable material. The body tends to separate the edges of the slot (4, 4') so as to increase the diameter of the ball (3). The female part (2) includes a housing (12) for the male part (1) with an opening for inserting the spherical portion of the male part (1). The edges of the opening (13) are rigid and its dimensions are such that the ball can be forced through the opening (13) by bearing against the edges of the opening, with reduction of the ball's diameter by drawing together of the edges of the slot (4, 4'). The design of the clasp is especially simple and it can be easily opened and closed.
