The invention aims to simplify manufacture by ensuring that the potentiometer can be adjusted without the need for additional components and without the need for costly additional equipment. The potentiometer (20) has a resistance track (21) with which a sliding contact (22) is in electrical contact. The sliding contact (22) can be operated by hand by means of an adjustment element (15). Both sliding contact (22) and adjustment element (15) include means (26) for the adjustment of their relative positions following insertion into the housing (11) of the power tool.
