Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0701017A1] To take and transfer one or more knitted stitches, to needles of the same or a different machine, the needle (1) with the stitch (3) and sinkers (2) is raised to move the stitch (3) into an ejection position below an open latch (5) of the needle (1). The needle (1) is drawn down to bring the stitch (3) into the knock-over plane (4) defined by the sinkers (2). A further lowering of the needle (1) shifts the stitch (3) on the needle (1) neck to the latch (5) hinge. The needle (1) is lowered still further to close the latch (5) or operate the slide. The stitch (3) is lifted (6) to the needle head through contact. The needle (1) is lowered again to the bottom setting for the stitch lifter (6) to move into the stitch (3) for automatic transfer between the needle (1) and the lifter (6). Also claimed is a knitting appts. with a lifter (6) for each stitch (3) at a needle (1), with a plate or point to lift and transfer the stitch (3). The lifter (6) has a concave throat facing the curved needle (1) head carrying a stitch (3) to cover the needle head on closing the latch (5) or slide. The lifter point (6) can be on a carrier with a longitudinal sliding movement.
