[origin: EP0701022A2] Coating machine for the direct or indirect application of fluid or pasty medium (6) to a running web, esp. paper or cardboard, has a dosing slot (4) to form an impulse jet between a discharge lip (3) and a lip (2) near the application point and an adjuster (20-25) which is set in zones along the machine length for adjusting the distance of the application point lip from the discharge lip.
