[origin: EP0701065A2] A pressure cylinder (1) comprises a metallic, cylindrical liner as the inner cylinder (4), with a plastic fibre reinforced outer sleeve (5). A metal piston (2) with piston rod (3) slides in the inner cylinder, and the unit has metal closure parts (6) sealed to a cylindrical control section (7). Supply and return of the pressure medium is achieved via channels (11) in the closure parts. The two closure parts (6) are connected by tensioning rods (12), and the unit is stabilised against deformation due to the high pressure medium by the connection of the cylinder to the closure parts and adjustment of the tension force.
