Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0701101A1] The launching system comprises an internal tube (5) which is open at both ends, and has an inner diameter more or less equal to that of the cylindrical portion of the weapon. It has a support (6) for the internal tube, and a high-output water circulator (18) between the forward and rear ends of the launch tube through a space between the launch tube and internal tube. The water circulator is in the form of a pump or screw-pump (10) linked to a generator (11), e.g. in the form of a turbine integrated with the launch tube's rear hatch (4). In a variant of the design the high-output water pump can be in the form of a hydraulic piston.
