Abstract (en)
An apparatus for reproducing pre-recorded music programs is commonly used as a sing-along or karaoke apparatus. The apparatus has a control device that provides a fast and easy way to search for music titles without the aid of music index catalogs. The control device generates signals, according to the movement of a selector knob (3), which instructs the apparatus to display the music titles stored in a ROM cartridge (50). The ratio of the number of signals produced by the control device to the amount of the selector knob (3) movement may be set to a large number so that a large number of music pieces can be searched with a minimum rotation of the selector knob (3). In addition, the apparatus provides a means to select other music programs while another music program is being performed. <MATH>
