Abstract (en)
The phase locked loop (PLL) for generating an output clock signal has a first switching device receiving two clock signals, and outputs either clock as a feedback clock signal w.r.t. a first control signal. A phase/frequency circuit is coupled to the first switching device, and receives a reference clock signal and the feedback clock signal, and generates a second control signal w.r.t. a phase relationship between the reference clock and the feedback clock signal. A charge pump circuit is coupled to the phase/frequency circuit, and generates a voltage w.r.t. the phase relation between the reference clock and the feedback clock signals. A voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) circuit is coupled to the charge pump circuit, and generates the output clock signal. An enabling device is coupled to the VCO circuit, and outputs the output clock signal or a constant voltage level w.r.t. a third control signal. A first distribution device is coupled to the VCO circuit, receives the output clock signal, and outputs the first clock signal. A frequency of the first clock is similar to that of the output clock signal. A second distributor is coupled to, and receives an output of the enabling device and outputs the second clock signal.
