Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9425582A1] A method is provided for the use of a fragment of von Willebrand Factor (vWF) comprising the platelet glycoprotein Ib (GPIb) binding domain in conjunction with known therapies to obtain enhanced protection against thrombosis, improved thrombolysis, and a decreased likelihood of reocclusion following thrombolytic treatment. Additionally, a method is provided for the use of the vWF fragment and aspirin to prevent complications following traumatic vascular damage.
