[origin: WO9429534A1] A device for starting and stopping a water flow from a water outlet has a housing (10) which may be connected to the outlet and which contains a valve seat, a sealing ring (14) and a valve body (13) which is pressed by the water pressure against the sealing ring (14) and form-fittingly seals it. The valve body (13) may be moved from its closed position to its open position and vice-versa by an actuating member (24). The actuating member (25) has at least one retaining member (35) or co-operates with a retaining member by means of which the actuating member (24) may be retained in its working position. The retaining member consists of projections (34), recesses (36), control cams (1), lifting cams (44) and working surfaces (46) formed on the actuating member (24) and/or the housing which are operationally linked to each other in the working position of the actuating member (24).
