Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0702904A2] The loose tobacco is fed to the funnel system formed by two angled conveyor belts (4,6). One belt is driven to move the tobacco downwards while the other lifts it up. The differential action of the belts agitates the tobacco and loosens it into a homogeneous feed for an even loading of the dosing chamber which doses the tobacco for each cigarette. The loosening of the tobacco is further enhanced by an eccentrically driven agitator in the middle of the feed. The accurately metered amount of tobacco is slid axially to the paper wrap position to form the cigarette.
